Hubert Bradley Hinds was a constant reminder that we should laugh often and enthusiastically express our love of family and friends. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time here with us. He was remarkable in so many ways.
First and foremost, he was always supporting his family. He loved his family profoundly. He was a devoted son, brother, nephew, uncle, Godfather and friend. Looking back, Bradley was always a family man. He was a man of passion and compassion.
Bradley took all of the roles in his life to heart and strove to honor, guide and support as many people as possible.
He remained a keen sportsman who loved basketball. He played his fiercest games at Good Counsel High School, and after graduating continued on at Saint Mary’s College and Morgan State University. He also traveled all over this country, and Italy, for various sports tournaments. From the time of his first AAU Nationals Tournament in Orlando, Florida to the day he passed, Bradley was always a dedicated athlete.
When his own basketball career ended, Bradley supported youth sports through his coaching and leadership. He made great efforts to be the best he could be, a friend, a mentor, and champion to others.
His care and compassion also lead him to employment at two community-based mental health centers serving Washington’s mentally ill citizens.
Bradley was beloved by his father Hugh (William) Hinds and mother Joycelyn (Joy) Alleyrie, who just celebrated 45 years of marriage, sister Bunmi whose husband Greg was a true brother to Bradley, Kadidja and her new husband Walter, grandparents Hubert and Mavis Alleyne, Basil and Marjorie Hinds, aunts and uncles Rashleigh and Carol Brpwne, Charles and Evelyn Duncan, Audrey Alleyre, Ebonette Alleyne, Audrey DeAbreu, Marie Hinds Northey, Harrie and Jacqueline Hinds, Alan and Mary Hinds, many cousin including Peppi, Shelly, Tanya, Lee, Wayne, Alistair, Desmond, Sonya, Hugh, Kweci, Jene!le, Selwyn, and Triston, nephew Ahmad, and nieces Salah, Ayo and Adora, and numerous relatives and friends in Canada, the Bahamas and Guyana.
