One man protestor seeking the removal of Attorney General’s for recorded threats to Kaieteur News is shot dead execution style

It has been reported that Courtney Crum-Ewing, who led a one man protest seeking the ouster of Attorney General Anil Nandlal after he was recorded making threats to the Kaieteur News, has been killed execution style.

According to sources, Ewing a former Guyana Defence Force Officer was shot dead at around 7.45 pm at the intersection of 3rd Ave and the northern most road in Diamond as he was making public announcements on his hand held loud hailer calling on citizens to go out and vote.

Reports note that a car with four occupants drove up and shot Ewing to the back of his head. The car then drove away. The loud hailer fell about two feet away as Courtney fell on his back. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the Diamond hospital.

Family members have already called for a thorough, independent investigation into the killing.

On Friday December 5, 2014 Courtney Crum-Ewing was held at the Brickdam Police Station for questioning after being accused of using a toilet in the compound of the Ministry of Legal Affairs.

Crum Ewing was told to return to the Brickdam Police Station on December 8th 2014 where he appeared, but charges were never filed and he was released.
