October 19, 1953 – Forbes Burnham and Cheddi Jagan at Atkinson Field to board a charter plane of travel to Suriname then to London for a meeting with the British government. The meeting was to discuss the British Government’s suspension of the British Guiana Constitution.
November 20, 1953 – Burnham and Jagan arrived in India and met with Prime Minister Nehru. They both later addressed both members of India’s house of Parliament to garner support for “the struggle for freedom” in British Guiana.
