Earlier today President Donald Ramotar relieved Health Minister Bheri Ramsaran of his Ministerial duties and named Dr. Jennifer Westford to act as Minister of Health.
This comes a week after Mr. Ramsaran’s verbal insults aimed at human rights activist Ms. Sherlina Nageer and after widespread condemnation by the press and the international community.
Mr. Ramsaran after apologizing for his first outburst that was caught on a recording device and placed in the public domain, was again recorded at another event maligning Ms. Nageer’s character.
President Ramotar expressed his “outrage at the verbal outbursts and insults uttered by the Minister” as he made the announcement.
