Elton Felix Dharry was born on December 1, 1985 on the Essequibo island of Leguan, Guyana. He moved to Brooklyn, NY, and has a record of 21 fights with 15 wins, 9 by knockouts, 5 losses (decisions) and 1 draw.
Dharry said that he started boxing after often getting into fights at school, and on the street. After watching some amateur boxing with his dad he decided that it was something that he could do.
He fought in the US Nationals, the Metro finals, and the Olympic box-offs in 2003 and 2004 and turned pro at the end of 2004 with a six round unanimous decision over Mark Fernandes at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Georgetown, Guyana.
Dharry explains that his nickname “The Real Coolie Bully” means that he is a very tough fighter of Indian ancestry. He is trained by Patrick Forde, former Guyanese and British Commonwealth Featherweight champion.
Dharry ranked # 23 fighting out of the Gleason’s Gym in New York will battle Lee Haskins ranked # 5 for the WBC International Title on the March 1, 2014 at the City Academy, Bristol, England, UK.
