Patriotic Guyanese-American Wayne Forde has released a new video titled “Change We Can Embrace- A Vision of Hope” which envisions a future where Guyana is no longer a third world country but takes its place in the world as a developed country.
The video initially takes a step back in time to highlight that ardent Donald Ramotar supporter Dr. Joey Jagan (son of Dr. Cheddie Jagan), said “President Ramotar assured me and pledged to me that we will fix the things for you“; Jagan has re-migrated to the USA.
Forde’s vision of the future Guyana is “after many decades of oppression, ethnic divide, crime, corruption, poverty, and poor governance.”
The narrator in the video notes that the vision of the future Guyana is “a vision without the PPP, a vision without the cabal of Donald Ramotar and the PPP criminal enterprise.”
Forde describes his vision for the future as being propelled “from a third world country and the third poorest in the western hemisphere, to that of a prosperous inclusive democracy.” He envisions the relocation of the capital city and a host of structural reforms and the development of solar, wind and hydro and ethanol technology that provides significant employment opportunities for Guyanese and reduces Guyana’s importation of fossil fuels.
The video closes with the background music of the popular song by John Lennon “Imagine” with the poignant line “you may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one". Forde concludes by saying that “we’re sure that the APNU/AFC coalition will articulate a clear and compelling vision for our nation very soon and will explain why Guyana needs a president, a prime minister and three vice-presidents.”
The video provides a thought-provoking commentary on what is possible for Guyana as elections loom in May 2015.
