Dr Max Kungel known to some of his friends as “Prince Max Kungel” would have celebrated his birthday on March 22. He was in Guyana to commemorate the one year anniversary of the death of his grandmother.

Kungel who lived in, Charlotte, was staying with relatives at Number 72 Village, Corentyne. He was found Sunday Morning in a motor vehicle in the back-lands of Number 70 Village, Corentyne suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

He visited Guyana in March 2012 and wrote the following on his Facebook page:

Please accept my “late expression of gratitude” for the birthday greetings. I was out of the Country travelling to a remote location in South America. I has always been my wish to spend this special birthday with the person whom I love very dearly, Grandma! And so, on March 22 I arrived at her sick bedside and like always she extended a heartfelt of love, hugs, and cuddling. As I lay next to her I felt her fingers passes through my almost bald head, expressing her love and appreciation is all excited ways. She said to me that “I have been waiting for you so long to tell you a lullaby and finally you came when I am so tired”. I spent the night next to Grandma and received all her love affections like I use to during my childhood days. The birthday was a dream comes true. The next day I decided to catch some rest on my own and as my eyes closed for a min I heard a “different call”, Grandma, age 87 past away the day after my birthday wish, 23 March at 4:05pm. Grandma was the root of the family tree and she means the world to me, she was my mother, father, brother, sister, my personal spiritual guider; and most of all, she was my essential best friend. Grandma nurtured me from a baby to child and from a child to a boy; she watches my transform from adolescent to manhood and climbed ladders of success not forgetting that she was my cornerstone each time I fall. I love her and miss her dearly.

Investigations are pending.
