DESCRIPTION:The Guyana Association of Georgia (GAOG)\, the Guyana Business Journal (GBJ)\, and the Caribbean Policy Consortium (CPC) Present Navigating a Changing Guyana \n The connection between the United States and Guyana is growing exponentially. \nJoin us as we discuss the future of Guyana’s economy and American affairs. \n LITHONIA\, GA\, May 19\, 2023 — GAOG\, GBJ\, and CPC have teamed up to host a forum and reception dedicated to Guyana’s changing landscape. This in-person event\, Navigating a Changing Guyana: Pathways to Prosperity in the Era of Oil and Gas\, will occur at the ​​AEI Startup Factory on Wednesday\, May 24th\, 2023\, starting at 4.30 p.m. \nOver the next two decades\, Guyana is poised to receive tens of billions of U.S. dollars from oil and gas revenues\, significantly impacting the country’s economic climate. To harness this potential\, GBJ and CPC will a series of panels with thought leaders from Guyana and the United States. These panels will facilitate discussions on current opportunities that aim to maximize economic growth in Guyana’s public and private sectors\, taking full advantage of this transformative era of oil and gas. \nAlongside our leaders\, the forum will also feature experts from the energy\, education\, and diplomacy sectors. This convening includes: \nIvelaw Griffith\, former Vice Chancellor at the University of Guyana. \nRiyad Insanally\, former Ambassador of Guyana to the USA. \nUlric Trotz\, Deputy Director & Science Adviser at the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre in Belize. \nStacey Mollison\, President and CEO of Libra Management Group. \nOslene Carrington\, Chief Executive Officer of The Guyana Economic Development Trust (USA) and The Economic Development Fund (Guyana). \nThe forum and reception will allow attendees to network with members of the Atlanta Guyanese diaspora to create actionable change.
